One of my favorite things to do after a long day is to take a nice, steamy shower. But unfortunately for me, I am super clumsy. So I’ve actually slipped a few times while doing a terrible rendition of Bonnie Tyler’s I need a hero. That’s why I thought that it was a good idea to invest in some anti-slip shower stickers.
But given how much anti-slip mats have failed me in the past, I wanted to research what I was buying. I also wanted to try out a few different ones, and see which claims hold water. Here’s which ones worked, and all the reasons I love them.
What Are Anti-Slip Shower Stickers?
Anti-slip shower stickers are treads with an adhesive that you can put in a shower or bath to prevent slipping. They’re much smaller than anti-slip mats and much easier to clean, but I’ll get to that a bit later.
You can use these stickers on any sort of enamel, shower trays, or even in plastic baths. They’re super versatile and come in different shapes, sizes, and price points. Anti-slip shower stickers are also really long-lasting, and if you glue them down properly, you won’t have to replace them for a few years.
Why You Need Anti-Slip Stickers in Your Shower
Well, let’s just start with the most obvious reason you need anti-slip shower stickers — safety. Every single year, hundreds of thousands of people slip and fall in their baths and showers. The best-case scenario is coming out of it with just a few bumps and bruises.
But unfortunately, falling in the shower can also be deadly, which is why it’s crucial that you stay safe while showering. With just a few strategically-placed stickers, you could save yourself a nasty fall.
Another reason you should consider anti-slip shower stickers is that they’re really easy to fit almost anywhere. You don’t have to take any sort of measurements beforehand.
Also, depending on which stickers you get, they could be a fun element in your bathroom. But if you’d rather not see them at all, you’re in luck because there are transparent stickers, too.
What’s more, since anti-slip shower stickers are pretty inexpensive, you could even take them with you when you travel. So when you go to a hotel, for example, you can put your stickers in the shower, and go on about your day.

2. Secopad Non-Slip Bathtub Stickers
Secopad is another industry giant, whose bathtub stickers blew me out of the water. Unlike the ones from SlipX Solutions, these aren’t square but round. What makes these stickers work wonders are the tiny protrusions. Supposedly, on the top-facing side of each sticker, there are about 1250 bumps that increase friction.

Out of all the stickers in this entire list, I think that the ChezMax Beach treads are the most fun and creative. I have honestly never seen anything like these before, and they’re now a permanent fixture in my shower.
No products found.
You can buy the ChezMax treads in a ton of different designs, but my favorite ones have to be the blue waves and the rose petals. I don’t know why, I just wasn’t a huge fan of the idea of stepping on a dolphin or sea turtle, but you do you.
There are six pieces per pack, and they’re pretty large, so I think that you could cover your whole shower with just one pack. I also love the fact that the PVC used for these treads is eco-friendly and super easy to clean.

What I personally like about these is that the top part of the stickers is textured, but still gentle on the skin. So if you were to spend a lot of time in the bath with your tot, they’d be more than comfortable sitting or standing on the stickers.
Cleaning and Caring for the Anti-Slip Shower Stickers
One of the biggest joys of having anti-slip shower stickers instead of a mat is that they’re so easy to clean. They don’t require any special cleaning products, and you can usually just clean them with whatever you’re using for your shower.
The only advice I’d really give is to use something that’s non-abrasive, and not to let the stickers soak in the cleaner. Being covered in harsh chemicals over a longer period of time can affect their stickiness.
Also, another cool thing about the stickers is that they don’t tend to change colors, and won’t fade or get discolored. But if you want to have them stay sparkling white or super bright for a longer time, I recommend using a soft nail brush. Of course, there’s no need to do this every time you’re cleaning your shower, just every once in a while.
Anti-Slip Stickers vs. Mats
I’ve been waiting to give my two cents on the anti-slip stickers vs. mats debate for such a long time. But before I start, I just want to say that I don’t hate anti-slip mats in any way. I think that they usually do a good enough job, and I’ve used them often in the past.
The one thing that I will never understand is just why on earth do anti-slip maths get so dirty. No matter which mat I bought, and how expensive it was, it would get dirty after only a few showers. I’ve wasted so much time cleaning and scrubbing that, at one point, I realized it just wasn’t worth it anymore.
Also, if not cleaned properly, mats will start growing mold and mildew, which are almost impossible to get rid of. However, since most anti-slip stickers have some sort of resistance coating, that’s not really a problem.
What’s more, stickers are directly attached to the surface underneath them, so even if they don’t have any coating, mold and mildew still can’t grow there.
As I’ve mentioned earlier, the biggest upside of putting down anti-slip stickers is that they’re more durable than mats. Basically, once you glue them to your shower, they’ll stay there for years to come.
With that comes an extra bonus of safety. Since they can’t come undone while you’re in the shower, there’s little to no chance that you’ll actually slip. On the other hand, I’ve had a few mats unstick right under my feet. And let’s just say that trying to glue them back mid-shower is not an experience I enjoyed.
Ease of cleaning wasn’t the only reason that made me switch from anti-slip maths to stickers. Unlike stickers, not all bath mats can fit in every single shower and bath.
In fact, I have, on one or two occasions, bought a mat that was way too big for my shower, and that I had to return. But that’s not a problem with stickers, because you can choose how many you want to put, and where you want them.
Ease of Removal
Honestly, the only upside of putting a mat instead of stickers is that it’s easier to remove. So if you want something that’s temporary, I would recommend a mat. That being said, it’s kind of a pro and a con, so take that as you will.
There you have it, my list of the absolute best anti-slip shower stickers. If you haven’t tried any of them yet, I strongly recommend that you do, because they will change your life. You will never have to worry about slipping or falling in the shower or bath ever again. Plus, some of these stickers can really elevate your bathroom’s decor and make it look even more fun and stylish.
